The New York Natural Heritage Program (NYNHP) is a program of the Research Foundation for the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) whose mission is to facilitate the conservation of New York's biodiversity by providing geospatial information, database applications, and scientific expertise on rare species, invasive species, and natural ecosystems. NYNHP works in partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and other state, federal and private organizations involved in natural resource management, land protection and stewardship, and advancing the conservation of biodiversity.

The New York Breeding Bird Atlas III is looking to hire at least two technicians (possibly more) to conduct atlasing in New York during the summer of 2024 (dates: May 15 - August 15). Technicians will be responsible for conducting bird surveys in assigned priority blocks, recording breeding codes, and entering these records into eBird. Applicants must be comfortable working alone in remote areas without cell service (emergency satellite beacon provided).
