Lydia is a seasonal Assistant Ecologist with the New York Natural Heritage Program. Since joining the ecology team in 2019, her work has primarily been in wetlands assisting on projects documenting wetland condition and functional value across New York State. Her previous field experience includes ecological restoration and invasive species management.
Lydia has a Bachelor of Technology in Plant Science from SUNY Cobleskill and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Ecology from SUNY Brockport. Her thesis research focuses on floodplain forests of New York and aims to evaluate their current distribution and ecological condition.
