Julie is the project manager and ecologist in our partnership with NY State Parks (NYS OPRHP). She conducts field inventories to identify, assess and map natural communities and advises on stewardship. She has worked as an ecologist for nearly 30 years in the Natural Heritage network with positions in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, before returning to her home state of New York in 2008. She has a B.S. in Wildlife Biology from University of Vermont and a M.S. in Botany from University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she did research on the ecology of a coastal plain pondshore community. In her free time, she advocates for conservation of natural areas, as well as historic buildings and neighborhoods. She is currently serving on the board of Historic Albany Foundation.
