Meghan Rickard is a Marine Zoologist whose primary role is managing NYSDEC’s Whale Monitoring Program and integrating the collected data to identify areas of conservation importance for large whales in the New York Bight. She sits on multiple appointed teams, assists in stranding coordination, and provides technical expertise on marine mammals and sea turtles in regards to offshore wind, shipping, fisheries, and anthropogenic noise. Meghan has a Master of Environmental Management degree from Duke University with a certificate in geospatial analysis. She is originally from Massachusetts but relocated to Long Island to pursue her career.
