Nick manages the Biotics biodiversity database for New York Natural Heritage, and supports other staff's data entry, querying and reporting. He coordinates the provision of Heritage data to state and federal agencies, municipalities, non-profit organizations, and researchers; and he prepares Heritage data for inclusion in Natural Heritage’s and NYSDEC’s web applications. Nick also coordinates the New York Protected Areas Database (NYPAD). Nick received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from UC Davis and a Master's in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire, and has been with the New York Natural Heritage Program since 1992. In the spare time he doesn’t have, Nick is on the Board of Directors of the Rensselaer Land Trust (Past President) and the Friends of the Dyken Pond Center (Vice-president), and leads hikes and nature walks throughout Rensselaer County, New York.
